Shoe Leather RepairCharlotte Shoe Repair

Business is thriving. At the moment, we repair over a thousand items a month. As well as, constantly expanding our growing inventory of new styles of work footwear. We also carry orthopedic insoles and a variety of leather care product, socks, safety glasses, and USA made all leather belts. Currently, CSR is one of the last full service shoe repairs in the Mid-Michigan area. Having that title is something very important to all of us, along with establishing a strong relationship with our customer base. Whether it’s putting a new sole on your work boots, replacing the heels on dress shoes, building a lift, or replacing a buckle on your daughter’s tap shoes, we are here to fix your favorite’s.

When it comes to selling you a new pair of footwear, we take pride in our process of fitting you with the best footwear for your task at hand. We recognize that the purchase of quality footwear is an investment for the customer, and having the product to stand behind, insures we get you in the best possible choice. We like doing things a little old school, especially when fitting a customer with the proper size. We take the time to measure both feet, and talk about what application you’ll be using your footwear in. We also offer repair warranties for the brands we represent, which insures that your investment is always the best it can be.

Here at CSR, customer satisfaction is a priority. We promise to make your favorite pair of boots, shoes, or even your favorite purse look like new again. When you walk into our store, you’re greeted with a smiling face. No gimmicks, no scheme. Just a store that feels like a hometown friend- trustworthy, honest, and reliable. It’s been that way since the beginning and we plan on keeping that tradition for years to come.

Our History: Timeline

Charlotte Shoe Repair started as a small business in Charlotte, MI in 1946. It was owned and operated by John Stofflet and his wife, Ruby for twenty nine years from then until 1975.

The ownership was passed onto Jim Fleck in 1975 and he owned the shop until 1988.

Chuck Grinnell owned the Shoe Repair from 1989 to 1990 in a small business corner in town, formerly called Peters Circle.

In December of 1990, a man named Richard Brown took over the store and was operated by himself for 20 years.

Tom Bohunsky bought the business from Brown in 2010, and ran it for 3 years.

In December 2013, Travis Lyon bought Charlotte Shoe Repair, knowing that everyday would present a new challenge, and over the past few years has strived towards a successful and ever growing business.
